How to get the acapella of a song
- 1
Drop the song
Use an MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG, AAC or AIFF file up to 10 minutes long. The preview starts without an account.
- 2
Hear the vocals on their own
The workspace opens with the vocal stem soloed and plays the first 60 seconds. Unmute the band to check how cleanly the voice came out.
- 3
Split the whole song
Sign in to process the full track. The vocal arrives with the other stems beside it (vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and other) and a MIDI file of the vocal melody.
- 4
Separate lead from backing
If the song has harmonies, split the vocal stem again into the lead voice and the backing vocals. The button shows the minutes it will use first.
What to expect from the acapella
The cleanest results come from songs where the voice sits in front of the mix, which covers most pop, rap, singer-songwriter and rock. Expect some bleed when the voice shares its range with another loud part, such as a distorted guitar or a lead synth.
Reverb and delay on the voice usually stay with it, because the model hears them as part of the vocal. A very wet vocal comes out wet. Doubling and pitch correction stay too, since they were recorded as part of the vocal.
Live recordings are harder. Crowd noise and room sound reach every microphone, so some of it ends up in the vocal stem.
Backing vocals come out with the lead. When you need the main voice alone, use the lead and backing split after the full split.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get the acapella of a song?
Upload the song above. The preview opens with the vocals soloed and plays the first 60 seconds; sign in to extract the whole track.
Is it free?
The 60-second preview is free with no account. Full songs use minutes from your plan: the Free plan includes 30 minutes a month.
Which files can I upload?
MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG, AAC and AIFF files, up to 10 minutes and 120 MB each.
Can I use the acapella in my own release?
Only if you have the rights to the original recording. The tool separates audio; it does not clear it.
What format is the acapella?
A 320 kbps MP3 on every plan. Any paid plan or minutes pack adds WAV, which is better if you plan to edit or pitch the vocal.
Can I get the lead vocal without the backing vocals?
Yes. After a full split, split the vocal stem again into the lead voice and the backing vocals. That uses minutes, and the button shows how many before you start.
Does the acapella come with MIDI?
Yes. A full split writes a MIDI file for every stem, the vocal melody included. The 60-second preview has no MIDI.
